My fiance and I visited the North Ridge Ranch a few weeks ago and it was such an amazing experience. For starters, the couple that runs the ranch are incredibly nice and knowledgeable about their business. When we arrived, we were given a run down on the what to expect and how to have an enjoyable and safe experience. We were then led to our sleds where we got to see how all the dogs were hooked up (the wife also made sure to tell us all the names of the dogs that were on our team - I thought this was awesome!) The ride itself, whether you are in the sled or "steering" is incredible! My fiancé and i had a blast, we laughed so much! At the half way point, I got to experience something a little extra special on top of the hot chocolate and snacks - I got proposed to. It was a dream - in the middle of a forest where it feels like it's just the tourists and the dogs. An extra thank you to Brad, one of the owners who helped my fiance in planning and capturing the experience. Don't think twice about booking this tour. It is an unforgettable experience and you will not regret it! I promise you.

Hello to the person reading this review, Do it! Sign up to go dog sledding! You will not regret it! Hands down this was one of the most incredible experiences I've had. I almost don't know how to describe it adequately. From the tutorial on how to drive your sled and dog team, to the adrenalin rush as you wait two beats before you start and follow the team(s) ahead of you out of the kennel, to the physical exertion and the immediate doubt that you have the physical stamina to lead your team for 10 kms, to the first downhill and the first climb to navigate, to the ache in your arms, to the realization that, YES, you can do this, to the thrill of leading your team of dogs, to the well earned break (for you and your teams of dogs) at the halfway point, to the delicious hot chocolate, to getting to sit in the sled for the 10 km ride back to base, to enjoying the staggering beauty of the winter wonderland you are sledding through, to your arrival back at base, this is an incredible experience. Their dogs are a wonder. Full of energy and so sweet. Our team included Goose, Sparrow, Mia, Tavros, Pocahontas and Elsa. The loveliest dogs. They took good care of us. Dog sled tour in Canada - that was such a massive adventure! My daughter Isabela (15) and I, Klaus, went on a dog sled tour with you on March 21, 2023. The weather was great and we had so much fun. A childhood dream came true for both Isabela and me – to ride a dog sled through a snow-covered winter forest. The dogs were just great! The power with which they pull the sledges is unbelievable. We will remember this adventure for a long time. Thank you Leah for all the great information about the dogs. Thank you Brad for the very detailed instruction on how to drive a dog sled with 6 strong dogs. Without following your tips and advice, such a tour could also become dangerous. My advice to everyone who would like to try this adventure: Listen carefully to what Brad explains and follow his instructions - then this dog sled tour will be a great experience! Choose a cold day with sun! And just enjoy the wonderful dogs! My daughter will probably rave about the "cute" dogs forever. We had such an amazing experience today at the Ranch! Super kind people who really care about their dogs. We got a perfect tutorial about how to drive the sled and keep the dogs and everyone on the trip safe and we were off! The scenery and trails were beautiful and so peaceful.

Getting to go in with the dogs while they were being harnessed was fun as well. The dogs were all very friendly and wanted lots of pets.

We went with myself, my husband and my daughter for her tenth birthday, I would highly recommend this adventure to everyone!

Definitely the best experience ever! We've been traveling to Canada many years, summer and winter, and we're so happy we finally did the dog sledding this time at North Ridge Ranch. The dogs are so well natured and friendly, even to us some dog amateurs -- they love being pet and talked to. The owners Brad and Leah are really nice and professional. We were totally able to trust them with 30-something years of experience. Our 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son really enjoyed Brad's stories about the wild animals and nature in the area as they rode on the sled Brad drove. It was just amazing experience going through the crisp-aired woods as we listened to the sled running on snow. We would love to do that again!

Our group of 4 was lucky enough to enjoy the 1/2 day tour with North Ridge Ranch -Dog Sledding. They were professional, friendly, and let us know that the responsibilities of running a dog sled are real, but gave us more than enough information so we were able to handle it. I was nervous that I would not be able to handle the team, but the instructor gave me the confidence, and asked me if I was fine after I tried it, and I was. What a tremendous beautiful experience, and I am definitely enjoying this outing again. Recommend people try it at least once. It is a 2 part experience, enjoy sitting in the sled experiencing and sharing your team mates experience, and then enjoy the experience of running the team your self.

DA perfect way to spend a winter day! We did a one hour tour with adults and kids and it was perfect. The dogs were raring to go, Brad was a great instructor and guide, Leah was so accommodating even when we had one person drop out last minute.

Our family of five booked a one hour tour and as many before me have stated, my only regret was not booking the longer option. My three kids ages 7,5&3 did just fine and would have enjoyed more time. Brad and Leah are exceptional hosts. Patient and genuine.

We had a blast at North Ridge Ranch. From start to finish Brad and Leah make you feel welcome and ensure a memorable experience. The love and care they demonstrate for their dogs is impeccable Also, the best hot chocolate to warm you up on the ride. We went on our first dog sled run today and it was an out of this world experience! Not only were we greeted by Brad and his super friendly wife Leah, we were greeted by many many happy/well behaved dogs! Such a beautiful property and so many well cared for dogs! Definitely recommend, we will be going again!

It was beautiful sledge ride through woods. Instructor had given clear instructions and he was checking all the time during ride if whole group is on track. Dogs are adorable and very friendly. Driver on the sledge has complete control throughout ride, do consider this before booking and enjoy this winter activity. Recommend completely.

This was the best 60th birthday present. I have always wanted to dogsled & this experience was amazing. From start to finish, Brad prepared us so well for being a driver and passenger; was attentive and made sure we were ok the whole way; he shared info and passion about the dogs, sleds, & his acreage; the hour long trip was fantastic and it does leave you wanting more.

Be sure to take turns being the driver - you can do it!

Escaped for a weekend up to Deerhurst and went dog sledding. Leah and Brad were excellent hosts, super healthy and very happy dogs who LOVE and are BRED for what they do. Big open pens, shared with friends, spotless kennels and FRIENDLY sweet dogs. Gorgeous scenery and the falling snow made it just magical. What a fabulous experience! Can't wait to return. Brad and Leah have a great operation going! The dogs have great living quarters and seem very happy and healthy. The experience was amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity! The scenery is beautiful and trails were well groomed! Brad gave excellent instructions (your brake is your best friend and never let go of the sled) and guided us safely through the property. The driver certainly gets a workout with the some of the hills on the trails as you have to hop off at times to help push, but this allows you to get the full fledged experience running a dog sled! Highly recommend this experience! Thanks Brad and Leah 😁

The owners of this family-run establishment are a lovely young couple who are very friendly and welcoming! We were impressed with how well Brad handled another guest who was not interested in wearing a mask, while all other families present were happy to comply with the protocols. The dogs were cute and friendly with our small children, and the ride was beautiful and fun! Recommend wearing sunglasses or ski goggles if you have them, but not essential if you don’t already have a pair.

Amazing! What a cool and unique experience to drive your own team of dogs through the beautiful trails of muskoka! Brad and Leah were wonderful and their 50+ dogs were so friendly and sweet. You can tell they just love to pull the sleighs!!
